What is kunafa?
Kunafa (also spelled knafeh or künefe) is a Middle Eastern dessert made from kataifi — very fine strands of pastry that are toasted in butter until deep gold and shatteringly crisp. Traditionally it's layered with soft cheese or cream and soaked in a fragrant syrup; today it's also the crunchy heart of the viral Dubai chocolate trend.
